Tuesday - June 29

Tuesday thought of some scriptures afterward that sort of negate part of what he was saying... but that ought to spark some discussion, oughtn't it?

Question: What is up with the sillybandz fad and why do fads exist? think beanie babies, webkinz, neopets...the list goes on.

Also do you ever find yourself with a "personal fad?"

-trying to participate

Sillybandz...

They probably cost almost nothing to make, which means they can make a ton and sell a ton for not much.

They're collectible. This makes them perfect for fad-dom.

They have a catchy name.

They're marketed to kids that don't have to pay taxes.

Why do fads exist? That's a good question. You've inspired me to make a whole video on this topic. Thanks! Ironically, though, this would have been relevant every day except the day I filmed it - I happened to leave my silly bandz at home.

Tuesday, I believe one huge way we love God is by loving people. Loving them in a way that points them to Christ... Surrendering ourselves to Him so that His light shines through us, so that we decrease and He increases.
I definitely believe emotions play a role in our love relationship with God! After all, He designed us to feel, He created our hearts to desire emotion. Of course, that can be taken to an extreme, and we should never rely on feelings alone! But yes, I believe God wants His love for us to be felt. =)
God does care perfectly for us, but it is for that very reason that He seeks His own glory and exaltation. As John Piper teaches, "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him". We were created to be fulfilled by God alone, so when He is lifted up, our joy is complete. God cares about His glory, because He cares for us. When we realize that only He can satisfy our deepest longings, when we come to Him desiring to be filled, that glorifies Him, it is a beautiful expression of love for Him, and He is more than willing to fill us to overflowing!
