I'm glad someone addressed this! I've been wondering this as well, since I do the same thing. I think it's partially habit and partially because I'd rather take a hot shower than a cold shower, at least that's what I think to myself. Because I can't stand taking a very long cold shower.
So, basically, I think you were right on. Look at that!
