Friday would like to warn you about the odd noises in the background... That's what happens when you film outside, I suppose. :]

I don't think you expect too much from God. But perhaps you expect the wrong things?
I think... your idea of "being certain" seems to be a form of expecting, expecting that he will be faithful, and that he has your best in mind. That's the kind of expecting that I don't think there can be too much of.
But perhaps you don't need to expect that God will speak to you in a certain way, or reveal something new about himself.
I'm the same way about the outdoors. Part of it is the expanse and often the distance I can put between myself and other people when I'm outside. It makes me feel like I'm somehow closer to God. Or at least, it's easier for me to be closer to God. So I really enjoy the outdoors.
I think that perhaps "not expecting anything from God" could be called trust? Like, trusting that whatever he does is good, so we don't need to expect him to do what we want, which might be a spiritual experience of a certain kind, or at a certain time, or at all. Because, as Adventures in Odyssey taught me, trust is not trusting that someone is going to do what you want. It's believing that they want what's best for you regardless of what they do.
Have I mentioned that you're living my life, basically? :P I think about this all the time. And I have reached pretty much the same conclusion as you. I love to feel God, but I guess I don't need to feel him all the time. I think maybe I put too much emphasis on it. Certainly it's good, but I need to learn to thrive in the times that he's not felt.
I'm not quite sure how to do that yet, but... I'm working on it. As I am with most things.
Great video. Thanks for making it. :)
My favorite moment:
"The way I feel is, I think God should speak to me, and so-"
A Year Of Questions is a project begun on March 22, 2010, by seven teens who want to be better at asking questions and articulating answers. This blog exists to make it easier to discuss these questions (because a 500 character limit on YouTube comments is rather limiting). Enjoy!

By the way, I like you. ;)
