Sunday - November 28

Sunday is pretty depressed that no matter how long you live, you will still be foolish.

So people on their deathbeds always pine, "Oh what I would have done if only I had more time!" When really, more time wouldn't have made a difference? We're static people. How terrible.

I think I'm with you that mostly it's character that changes in a person [besides things like what you know or like or the experiences you have: all of those change you too].

I'm thinking about different personalities displaying the diversity of the image of God, and I think [with the idea that personality doesn't change but character does] that we should still try to be well-rounded in all areas, while learning to dwell in harmony with people who fulfill different parts of the body.

I think some personalities have specific character flaws. And maybe the difference is that personality is tendency and character is about turning those tendencies to service without giving excuses for the things you don't tend towards. So that the things we are good at are not simply our innate, almost accidental, goodness, and that God works on the things we have a hard time with.

Yes, I think we do change. Yeah, I think "character" has to do with the stuff of being. While personality is the "sort" of person you may be, character is the person you are, I think.

I'm with Wednesday that certain personalities have tendencies toward different weaknesses, so different people have to work harder at different things and how they do that is through Character.

I'd just like to add to the whole experiences can change us, there is a leadership camp I went to and one of the things they really want kids(and anyone for that matter) to grab a hold of is that:

"You will be the same person 5 [insert any number you want] years from now, except for the places you go, the people you meet, the books you read and the things you memorize." ~SLU
