Sunday - July 25th

Christians are called to meet spiritual needs and physical needs, to which extent should evangelism rely on either, and should this reliance be concurrent?

It's actually a lot simpler and more interesting than that.

Sunday edited down 25 minutes of footage into less than five minutes. Clearly I have a rambling problem. And maybe I should have slept on this video before posting it. But I do rash things when I'm tired.

Relational evangelism is just so much more authentic, and so much more like . . . treating people like individual human beings. No matter how much you try, street evangelism, and "outreaches" always are a kind of catch all. And yes, they can and are useful and helpful but . . . they create their own barrier that they have to overcome in order to reach people, and usually make people feel not loved or . . . respected, maybe, I'm not sure. But yeah, relational evangelism for the win.

I uploaded this to this blog so I could comment :P

Shh, I'm not talking about relational evangelism for a few weeks!

Your videos on evangelism have been great...!

But they sadden me, and here's why. It's not because I have an opinion opposite of yours or Thursday's, or both, and I'm sad to see you so lost. It's because I realized that I haven't done enough of either of these to have a solid opinion on the matter. I don't know because I haven't done. I realized this and thought, "Wha...?" And then I realized how pitiful I was.

At least according to the RELEVANT podcast, it's pronounced Jon AY-cuff. Not that it matters, really, but when people pronounce things correctly they make music. At least, for my ears. ^-^

From 3:57 to 4:00, you reminded me of Schmoozeday.

Also, I'm going to risk sounding ignorant here... I think I know what it means - I just assumed - but could someone people give me a definition of relational evangelism? I want to make sure it's not some other concept of which I'm unaware. Is it basically just telling people about Jesus in the context of your relationship with them instead of going out on the street and talking to them for the sole purpose of telling them about Jesus?
