This is a very happy, optimistic video :D

I like what you both said about encouragement, and I don't really have anything to add to that.

Here's one thing that I think about quite a bit in terms of encouraging people: In this "relationship" of someone coming to you for encouragement, or you wanting to give encouragement, should we maintain the categories of "encourager" and . . . "encouragee"? Meaning . . . it is never so straightforward a relationship, and I find myself encouraged when encouraging others, and I find myself wanting to encourage my encourager, at times. And I think someone can in being encouraged encourage their encourager (just like, in being loved the beloved can help the lover to love them), does that make any sense?

Hmm. I think that you're right, the encourager does often get encouraged by the "encouragee." I feel like there is often an age difference that makes me want to put labels on who is more of a mentor, and who is being mentored. I wonder if I should think about it in different terms.

Friday adds: "I don't think it's at all important to maintain separate categories for encourager and encouragee. For me, I found that loving others works best when its under a mutual understanding of the love God has for us both. Unless God's love is my foundation, I'll get too caught up in who is doing the loving, which is not at all the point."
